Romolo Ludovico Lanza was born in Taranto. He began his piano studies at a young age under the guidance of his father, Cosimo Damiano Lanza. He studied with Alberto Miodini, Mariangela Vacatello and Pierpaolo Maurizzi at the “A. Boito” Conservatory in Parma, and at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main, with Oliver Kern. He has had the opportunity to refine his skills with renowned artists such as Marianna Shirinyan, Andrea Lucchesini, Trio di Parma, Bjørg Lewis, Filippo Gamba, Alexander Ullman, Riccardo Risaliti, Roberto Cappello, and Giampaolo Nuti. He is currently studying with Christopher Park at the Norwegian Academy of Music, in Oslo.
He has a particular fondness for the music of Johannes Brahms and Italian music, with a special interest in contemporary composers. In addition, his interest in all art forms influences his constant work with the repertoire, which has often led him to make a connection with literature, visual art, and dance.
Among many, he has had the opportunity to perform in venues such as Sala Verdi in Parma, Harpa Hall in Reykjavik, Lindeman Hall in Oslo, Auditorium Del Carmine in Parma, Accademia di Romania in Rome and many others.
His activity as an organizer prompted him to devise, between 2019 and 2021, a concert season within the Conservatory of Parma, “Les Concerts Du Cloître,” and from 2024, the “Vie Nuove” Festival, in collaboration with the Accademia Musicale Mediterranea and “International Music Competition for Youth – Dinu Lipatti” in Rome.
He is currently the Artistic Director of “Accademia Musicale Mediterranea”.
