Mar Sánchez-Domènech (1997, Spain) began playing the piano at the age of four and graduated with honors from the “Sebastián Durón” Conservatory in 2015. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Solo Classical Piano Performance at “Alfonso X el Sabio” University in Madrid with Maestro Iván Cítera and a perfect score in all subjects.
She later studied her Master’s in Solo Classical Piano Performance at the Utrechts Conservatorium with Vivianne Cheng ending with top qualifications. During that time she also did an exchange in Italy with renowned Maestro Vincenzo Maltempo.
Currently Mar is pursuing a second master’s degree at Codarts, Rotterdam, with Maestra Nino Gvetadze.
Mar has performed at international festivals and venues across Europe (The Netherlands, Spain, Lithuania, Macedonia, Italy, the UK) She was one of the six pianists selected for the 5th Anniversary of the Kaunas Piano Fest in Lithuania (European Capital of Culture 2022), where she played Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto no. 1 at the Kaunas State Philharmonic alongside Anna Geniushene, second-prize winner at the Van Cliburn competition, and sharing the stage with Lukas Geniušas, prizewinner at the Chopin and Tchaikovsky competitions.
